The Falling Walls Lab is an international forum, which aims at building and promoting interdisciplinary connections between excellent academics, entrepreneurs and professionals from all fields. All participants get the opportunity to present their research work, business model or initiative with peers and a distinguished jury consisting of experts from academia and industry – in 3 minutes each.

In 2017, 49 international Labs took place in 44 different countries, hosted by renowned academic institutions such as the ETH Zurich, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Chimie ParisTech.

The winners of all international Labs travel to the Lab Finale in Berlin on 8 November. 100 outstanding talents present their winning ideas in front of an interdisciplinary audience and a distinguished jury.

The three winners of the Lab Finale are awarded the title “Falling Walls Young Innovator of the Year” and showcase their project once more on the grande stage of the Falling Walls Conference on 9 November.

The Inaugural Falling Walls LAB New Zealand took place in September 2018.
